On January 26, Wanxiang held its 2023 Annual Summary and Awards Ceremony, during which the company reviewed its achievements for 2023 and honored employees who earned the titles of “Creation,” “Entrepreneurship,” and “Innovation” in 2023, inspiring everyone to forge ahead in 2024. Lu Weiding, Party Secretary and Chairman of Wanxiang Group, delivered a speech, calling on all Wanxiang employees to take action, dare to be pioneers, and boldly venture forth and strive hard, ensuring that the motto “Ten years of struggle add another city” continues to evolve into “Ten years of struggle add another zero!” Shen Zhijun, a member of the Board of Directors of Wanxiang Group, presided over the ceremony.

In his speech, Lu Weiding summarized the achievements of 2023, sharing new and significant developments over the past year from various perspectives—including thematic education, performance during the Two Sessions, technological innovation, progress on key projects, important honors received, public welfare and charitable activities, the care and support provided by Party committees and governments at all levels, and international exchanges. He also set forth requirements for the work to be carried out in 2024. Lu Weiding emphasized that we must unswervingly follow the Party, hold high the Party’s banner, and let Party building take the lead. In line with the arrangements made in the special Party class delivered on July 1 last year, we should continue to focus on “one study,” “two actions,” and “three innovations”—studying the guiding ideology, putting it into practice, and achieving concrete results. We must place great emphasis on building a systematic talent development framework, focusing particularly on talent cultivation. Specifically, technical talent should excel in specialized expertise; managerial talent should demonstrate strong learning capabilities; and leadership talent should possess exemplary character (philosophical leadership). It is crucial to ensure the right person is placed in the right position, selecting those who are widely recognized, the most outstanding individuals, and those who can unite others. We must underscore the importance of rigorous execution and strict implementation. Management personnel training should embody an engineer’s mindset, adhering to first principles, staying committed to major strategic investment projects, and adopting a strategy of “small steps, steady progress.” This will further strengthen our core competitiveness, enhance our ability to convert advantages into tangible outcomes, and foster a synergistic, explosive growth momentum. We must cultivate cultural confidence and uphold genuine values, promoting the spirit of Lu Guanqiu, the model worker spirit, and the entrepreneurial spirit. We must always keep in mind the principle of “speaking truthfully and doing practical things,” and strive to put the “Three Truths” into practice—executives truly dedicating their heart and soul, Party members and cadres truly serving as role models, and all employees genuinely engaging in labor—to create real value!

Wanxiang Qianchao: Positivity and integrity are our guiding light; Wanxiang gathers energy and unites everyone’s hearts into a mighty force. In 2023, the Board of Directors and all employees carried forward Lu Guanqiu’s spirit, demonstrated a strong sense of ownership, and took “Making the air cleaner” as our mission. We deepened our efforts in clean energy and intelligent motion control, tackled tough technological challenges in areas such as bearings, chassis, materials science, control systems, and energy storage technologies, and built the Wanxiang Innovation & Energy Hub with science as our top priority, striving to establish an industrial innovation and technology center. As a result, Wanxiang achieved new milestones. To summarize our experiences and recognize outstanding individuals, we have decided to award the title of “Innovation” to ten entities, including the F1 Ultra-High-Power Battery Development Team of Wanxiang 123 Co., Ltd., Chengde Luloo Co., Ltd., and Arvind Srinivasan. We also awarded the title of “Entrepreneurship” to 23 entities, such as Xiangsan Chuang Co., Ltd., the rapid-drive-shaft plants of Wanxiang Qianchao, and KIBENA3 of Dayang Shijia (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. Furthermore, we conferred the title of “Creation” on 35 teams, including the Battery Yield Improvement Team of Project B at Wanxiang 123 Co., Ltd. and the Digital Intelligence Engineering Group of Wanxiang (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. Lu Weiding presented awards to the honored representatives. The awardees pledged to keep up their good work, forge ahead with renewed vigor, set exemplary examples, and make even greater contributions to the development of Wanxiang.
