Recently, the General Office of the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government released a notice on the results of the 2022 Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government Quality Award assessment, recognizing the winning enterprises for their achievements in quality management innovation and quality improvement. Wanxiang Precision Engineering was among those honored.

The Hangzhou Municipal People's Government Quality Award is an honor established by the Hangzhou Municipal Government, awarded to organizations that have implemented outstanding performance management and achieved significant economic and social benefits in areas such as product manufacturing, engineering construction, service delivery, and environmental protection. The Municipal Government Quality Award is presented annually and comprises three categories: the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government Quality Award, the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government Quality Management Innovation Award, and the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government Quality Management Excellence Award. Each category has no more than five winning organizations. Among these, the "Hangzhou Municipal People's Government Quality Award" is the highest quality award established by the municipal government.

Wanxiang Jinggong was established in 1988 and is a subsidiary of Wanxiang Qianchao. It specializes in the production of automotive wheel hub bearing units. The company has been recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a Demonstration Enterprise for Single-Item Champions in Manufacturing, a Smart Factory in Zhejiang Province, and one of the first Future Factories in Hangzhou. It is also a national-level key high-tech enterprise, possessing core technologies for independent R&D and innovation of its products, and has a provincial-level enterprise technology center. The company took the lead in drafting the group standard “Made in Zhejiang” and has obtained certification under the “Made in Zhejiang” brand. It has been awarded the titles of “National Advanced Enterprise for Quality Management” and “National Quality Benchmark Enterprise.” In 2018, it received the Quality Award from the Xiaoshan District Government.

In recent years, Wanxiang Precision has steadily and confidently advanced in strategic planning, technological innovation, and internal management, demonstrating a spirit of proactive进取 and achieving new milestones. From starting off with a “sprint from the very beginning” to the steady improvement in operating performance during the first quarter, Wanxiang Precision delivered an impressive result right at the start of 2023. In the first quarter alone, total profits reached 31.43% of the annual target, representing a year-on-year increase of 28.56%. Externally, the company has actively expanded its market presence; internally, it has continuously pursued technological upgrades, cost reductions, efficiency improvements, and management optimization. By coordinating efforts both inside and outside the organization, Wanxiang Precision has set a strong opening note for high-quality development.

The company adheres to an internationalization strategy of “9+N” and is actively establishing close partnerships with mid-to-high-end OEMs. At the same time, the company has clearly defined a technology strategy centered on “technology leading the market,” proactively launching 25 customer-specific supporting projects under the “9+N” framework, all closely aligned with market-driven initiatives. Additionally, the company has initiated 12 foundational research projects focused on low friction, short process flows, and digital design, earning high recognition from customers. Thanks to the relentless efforts of the marketing team and all internal departments, the company successfully secured 12 designated projects in the first quarter and is smoothly ramping up mass production and supply.

At the beginning of this year, many “9+N” customer orders saw a sharp increase in demand. To meet market needs, the company has been actively advancing its automation upgrade and capacity expansion projects as planned. This year, we plan to convert four second-generation semi-automatic assembly lines into fully automatic ones and two first-generation semi-automatic assembly lines into third-generation fully automatic ones. In addition, we will add three new high-end customer-specific production lines. Through smart manufacturing, our workshops are achieving their goals of capacity expansion and workforce optimization. Currently, seven production lines have already entered small-batch mass production. Thanks to the efforts of our TPM team, the company’s OEE has improved by 2.5%, significantly boosting on-site production efficiency.

Meanwhile, the company is actively promoting the implementation of digitalization projects. Guided by Zhejiang Province’s “Future Factory” construction principles and supported by advanced manufacturing technologies and next-generation information technologies, the company is pursuing digital design, digital management, intelligent production, green production, and safe and secure operations across five key dimensions, thereby enabling personalized customization and networked collaborative management and helping enterprises enhance their core competitiveness. Under the unified deployment of Wanxiang Qianchao, the company has implemented DPM, EAM, QMS, energy consumption management systems, and a three-line management system. Based on Wanxiang Jinggong’s internal operational management activities, the company is also advancing data acquisition projects, IPMC, WMS, AR/VR, and digital twin initiatives; currently, all these systems are being actively rolled out. By leveraging the DPM system for performance dialogues, the company has shifted from traditional spreadsheet-based statistical methods to systematic data entry, improving work processes and boosting efficiency. Employees have become more attentive to data metrics—both in terms of mindset and work habits—and have deeply appreciated the necessity and significance of digital transformation and deployment.
