The 56th Anniversary Celebration of Wanxiang Entrepreneurship Conference Held
2025-07-22
On July 8, a conference was held to celebrate the 56th anniversary of Wanxiang’s founding. Lu Weiding delivered a speech titled “The Will of the Owner and the Sense of Ownership Are Becoming Commonplace in Our Enterprise.”

Since Wanxiang moved to Ningwei in 1969, it has now been exactly fifty-six years; if we count from the year 1962, when the founder first started the business, it has been sixty-three years. In his speech, Lu Weiding deeply reflected on Wanxiang’s remarkable journey over the past nearly six decades. From the resounding hammer blows along the banks of the Qiantang River to the strategic deployment of intelligent control systems, every passing year for Wanxiang has been a testament to the collective will and the enduring spirit of struggle. As a private enterprise that emerged just before the reform and opening-up era, Wanxiang has experienced firsthand the constraints of the planned economy and braved the turbulent waves of the market economy. Throughout it all, Wanxiang has consistently weathered storms and navigated economic cycles. To all our colleagues at Wanxiang—especially to our predecessors, including each and every one of you here today—I extend my highest respect and sincere gratitude!
Lu Weiding pointed out that, guided by the mission of “making the air cleaner,” we must put into practice the “three commitments”:—adhering to the integration of industry and finance and enhancing efficiency; combining going global with attracting foreign investment and leveraging resources; and pursuing the development of clean energy and seizing strategic advantages. As we continue to advance from “adding a city in ten years of striving” to “adding a zero in ten years of striving,” we will ultimately achieve Wanxiang’s ultimate goal: to become an application-oriented research institution specializing in science and technology. The key to achieving this lies in breaking through the bottleneck of talent shortages. Lu Weiding acknowledged that in recent years, Wanxiang’s talent structure has been steadily improving, and the morale and vitality of its employees have been continuously rising. He further emphasized that we must deeply instill in every Wanxiang employee the spirit of ownership—their sense of ownership and their owner’s mindset. This resonates closely with the core values of Wanxiang’s culture, which embody the spirit of “thinking like an owner, working like an owner, fulfilling one’s responsibilities as an owner, and enjoying the rewards of being an owner”—as well as with the spirit of Lu Guanqiu and the model worker spirit (the spirit of labor and craftsmanship). Wanxiang’s steady climb toward ever-greater heights is driven, above all else, by the intrinsic motivation of each and every Wanxiang employee—their proactive spirit of ownership and their strong sense of being owners.
Lu Weiding emphasized, “Always maintain a sense of awe—awe for the organization and awe for your position. On the basis of respecting and revering the laws of reality and the objective environment, fully harness your subjective initiative.” “Let every star shine”—aligning three key elements: what employees themselves are passionate about, what they excel at, and what the company and organization need—creates the perfect match between people and their roles. The company must create all necessary conditions, while employees must adopt an owner’s mindset and strive to bring unique value to the organization. “Create genuine value”—Wanxiang has always driven “value creation” through “efficiency enhancement,” expanding incremental growth from existing strengths while maintaining stability and making steady progress. “Culture is everything created by people for people to enjoy.” Wanxiang encourages employees to be proactive in creating, starting businesses, and innovating. What they create becomes shared achievements and wealth for the collective and the organization; for individuals, work itself serves as a platform for learning and personal growth. “Within the limits of Daoist power lies the potential for willpower to break through.” In this era of profound change, Wanxiang must take the initiative, demonstrating courage, charisma, boldness, and determination. We must rise to the occasion, go all out, and wholeheartedly do meaningful things to promote global cooperation and integration.
Lu Weiding pointed out that only with the owner’s will and a sense of ownership can our cause continue to thrive and pass on from generation to generation. Every employee should focus on the Wanxiang cause, embracing the spirit of “each person having their own sky above their head, and everyone striving to be a leader.” We must exert effort in three key areas—thought, action, and capability—to fully unleash our talents and realize our value.
We must possess a strong sense of dedication and responsibility. We should take full responsibility for our positions, striving to excel in everything within our purview; we should be committed to the enterprise, paying close attention to its strategic direction, operational efficiency, and risk challenges, thinking about issues from a holistic perspective and driving work forward accordingly. We should also feel deeply responsible for our cause: as we engage in intelligent control and clean energy, we must recognize the profound significance and long-term value of our work, thereby igniting our passion for struggle and unleashing our innovative potential. Our dedication is reflected in our unwavering determination to overcome “bottleneck” technologies, create world-class products, and lead industry standards. Our sense of responsibility is embodied in our uncompromising commitment to “zero tolerance” for product quality, “zero accidents” in production safety, and “zero compromise” on green development.
We must rise to action—and start with ourselves. We must never lose sight of our spirit of hard work and perseverance. We should cherish resources, practice thrift and frugality, and remain fully committed to our careers. In times of prosperity, we must stay alert and anticipate potential risks; beyond our comfort zones, we must boldly forge ahead with determination, staying ever-vigilant and never letting up. Above all, our actions must set a shining example: in maintaining integrity and self-discipline, we must “be upright and have a straight shadow”; when tackling tough challenges, we must “take the lead and charge forward”; and in distributing benefits, we must “act fairly and justly.” We should encourage managers at all levels to go deep into the front lines, working pragmatically and efficiently, while firmly opposing formalism and bureaucratic practices. The power of uniting people’s hearts is our greatest treasure. Managers must share both joys and hardships with their employees, care deeply about their growth and development, and enhance their sense of ownership and belonging as true “masters” of the organization. To truly take action, we must resolutely stamp out the “three no’s culture”—saying “no” to the attitude of “nothing happens unless pushed,” thereby breaking free from the mindset of dependence and reliance on others; saying “no” to the approach of “not feeling any pain or discomfort,” digging deep within ourselves to address the root causes; and saying “no” to the lukewarm attitude of “neither hot nor cold,” igniting a passionate drive to overcome difficulties.
We must continuously enhance our own core competencies. Only by embracing change and taking the lead in our thinking can we keep pace with—and even set the pace for—the times. Lifelong learning and continuous skill enhancement are essential to carry forward the Wanxiang culture of “reading ten thousand books, traveling ten thousand miles, making ten thousand friends, and building a legacy that endures ten thousand years,” making learning ability the key competitive edge for the future. Empowering and delegating authority will unlock untapped potential, further empowering those on the front lines who can hear the sound of gunfire. We’ll also establish more scientific talent evaluation and incentive mechanisms, ensuring that those who are eager to take action, capable of delivering results, and truly committed to success stand out. Without the strength of a diamond, you can’t handle delicate porcelain work; without genuine competence, how can you ever claim ownership? To foster greater innovation, we need even stronger capabilities. At Wanxiang, the greater your abilities, the wider the stage you’ll have!
Lu Weiding emphasized that “focusing wholeheartedly on development and operating lawfully and responsibly” has always been Wanxiang’s fine tradition, and that “holding the aspiration to serve the country and using prosperity to promote common prosperity” was the original intention behind our founder’s establishment of Wanxiang. “The revolution is not yet complete; comrades still have much to strive for.” The grand blueprint for Wanxiang requires all Wanxiang employees to jointly paint it with a sense of ownership. The great journey toward national rejuvenation calls upon Wanxiang people to passionately write its story through their actions as true owners! The spirit of ownership and the consciousness of being an owner mean there is no such thing as “impossible”—don’t even think about “it can’t be done.” Instead, stand tall in the face of every challenge and boldly declare with action: “I’ll do it!” As you are, so will Wanxiang be; if you shine brightly, Wanxiang will never grow dim! When the innovative and energy-focused city rises along the Qiantang River, history will surely remember: this brilliant lighthouse was lit by each and every one of you here today!
The meeting was chaired by Shen Zhijun. At the meeting, everyone watched the MV "The Direction Where the Tide Rises," an AI-created tribute celebrating Wanxiang Qianchao's 56th anniversary of entrepreneurship. The Group’s Financial Management Department briefed on the company’s business performance for the first half of 2025. Chen Liao from Wanxiang Qianchao, as a representative manager, shared his thoughts on responsibility, goals, confidence, and ideals. On this day, all Wanxiang employees felt joy and pride, sending their blessings to Wanxiang and sharing in its glory. With an even stronger sense of ownership, they embarked on a new journey to create further brilliance and write an enduring chapter of success!
