Wanxiang Qianchao Nominated for the 5th China Quality Award

On the morning of September 16, the China Quality (Nanjing) Conference opened in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Wanxiang Qianchao Co., Ltd. was nominated for the 5th China Quality Award thanks to its "Wanxiang Quality Management Model, centered on the 'Seven-Step Value-Based Core Method'." This marks the third time that Wanxiang Qianchao has been nominated for the China Quality Award, following its previous nominations in 2013 and 2021 for the 1st and 4th China Quality Awards, respectively.
Wanxiang has always regarded quality as the foundation for the survival and development of the enterprise. In 1980, Lu Guanqiu, the founder of Wanxiang, scrapped 30,000 defective universal joints, suffering a painful loss of 430,000 yuan—a “painful wake-up call” that awakened the entire workforce to the importance of quality and firmly established the philosophy of “quality first, reputation paramount.” Taking this as a starting point, Wanxiang has rigorously focused on quality, formulated stringent systems, and implemented comprehensive quality management, assigning responsibility to every department and every production process, thus laying a solid foundation for the company’s development.

Thanks to its profound cultural heritage in quality and its continuous quality management practices, the “Qianchao” brand universal joint has become synonymous with high-quality products, selling briskly both at home and abroad. Since 1982, it has successively been awarded Provincial Excellence and Ministerial Excellence honors. In 1988, the Hangzhou Universal Joint Factory received the Silver Award of the National Quality Prize—a national honor that was then the highest distinction in the automotive industry.
Wanxiang Qianchao carries forward Wanxiang’s quality culture, always keeping the user at the center of its attention. The “Four Nos” refer to “not designing, not manufacturing, not accepting, and not releasing nonconforming products,” while the “Four Earlys” stand for “early detection, early assessment, early warning, and early handling.” The company has established a comprehensive quality control system with the participation of all employees, effectively preventing and eliminating quality risks and potential hazards.

In 2021, Wanxiang Qianchao was nominated for the 4th China Quality Award, thanks to the successful implementation of its “Wanxiang ‘Four-Drive, Four-One’ Quality Management Model—From Fields to the World.” The company took meeting the highest quality standards in the global automotive industry as its breakthrough point, building an innovation-driven development mechanism from four aspects: market, technology, manufacturing, and operations. It also established a supporting system from two dimensions: quality infrastructure and quality culture development. Through “Four-One” goal management—“doing one practical thing each day, one new thing each month, one major thing each year, and one meaningful thing throughout one’s life”—all employees continuously strive for improvement, enabling quality to shift from quantitative change to qualitative transformation.
