Recently, the Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology released the list of Zhejiang Province’s Future Factories, Smart Factories, and Digital Workshops for 2024. Wanxiang Jinggong has been selected as a Future Factory in Zhejiang Province, with a “Leading Bird” construction model.

Wanxiang Jinggong specializes in the production of automotive wheel hub bearing units. Since its establishment, the company has consistently pursued the strategic goal of becoming a strategic partner to top global automakers. It has forged close strategic partnerships with major domestic and international OEMs, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, FAW, SAIC, and BYD. Its products are exported to more than 40 countries and regions, including the United States, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Based on the demand for intelligent process control in smart workshops, Wanxiang Jinggong’s future factory has built an “Intelligent Core” enterprise brain. Leveraging a variety of cutting-edge technologies—including sensing technology, wireless communication technology, computer networking technology, intelligent digitalization technology, and IoT application service platform technology—the factory integrates manufacturing execution process information from the company’s existing systems to establish a comprehensive信息化 (information-based) production and management system for wheel hub units. This system enables data-driven management and information-sharing collaboration throughout the entire production organization process, ensures rational allocation and scheduling of resources, and achieves visualization of business processes. As a result, the company has seen a 25.19% increase in overall production efficiency, an 18.37% reduction in energy consumption per 10,000 yuan of output value, a 10.59% decrease in operating costs, and a 20% shortening of product development cycles.

Meanwhile, using a manufacturing execution system as a key tool, the factory has introduced modern information identification technologies such as QR codes via an intelligent decision-making platform. Combined with industrial IoT technologies and wireless network communications, this approach has enabled transparent and intelligent management of the production process.

In addition, the factory has undertaken a digital transformation and upgrade of its manufacturing processes, building a three-dimensional digital twin model for its smart workshop and achieving virtual-real synchronization between Mercedes-Benz and GAC’s production line data and physical operations. By implementing IoT-based management of key production processes and inspection equipment, data from the entire production cycle is automatically archived, thus enabling digital, intelligent, and transparent management of the entire production process. This lays a solid foundation for the factory’s sustained development and continuous improvement of product quality, while also fostering a stronger and more robust industrial ecosystem for R&D design, production manufacturing, marketing services, and business management across the industry.
