Transmission Shaft Company—Undertaking Project Research and Development to Unlock Potential and Enhance Efficiency
2022-07-14
The transmission shaft company continues to intensify its efforts in technological upgrades. Through tackling various key projects, it is driving high-quality enterprise development and achieving remarkable results.

For example, workers in the fork manufacturing workshop optimized the spline structure of lightweight spline sleeves. By carefully measuring and analyzing data from the lightweight spline sleeves, they redesigned the spline broaching tools. After the new structural design was put into use, it effectively improved the dimensional stability of the spline sleeves and extended the service life of the broaching tools. Additionally, the fork manufacturing workshop staff made improvements to the drilling fixture for a certain series of sliding forks. By fabricating their own base plates and expanding clamping fixtures and changing the orientation in which parts are clamped, they enabled one operator to handle two machines simultaneously, reducing loading and unloading time and significantly boosting the efficiency of the custom drilling machine. In the forging workshop, Li Gangyi, Qi Liming, and Hu Wei jointly modified the bending die for the flange-fork disc section of a particular model. The original machining method of this forging die often led to excessive load on the equipment during forging, causing the disc section to bend and affecting subsequent processing steps. By optimizing the die and adopting a new machining approach, they not only resolved the forging-bending issue but also ensured the quality of the forged parts. The Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Department developed a self-made assembly welding machine that meets the requirements of process improvements while saving floor space, increasing the efficiency of universal joint installation by 33%.
In addition to consistently pursuing technological research and development projects, the Drive Shaft Company continuously enhances product quality by launching QC improvement initiatives tailored to product characteristics and customer feedback, thereby delivering products and services that better satisfy our customers. In the shaft manufacturing workshop, improvements were made to the positioning during grinding of a certain bracket shaft, streamlining the process and further enhancing grinding accuracy. Regarding a specific vehicle equipment’s push-pull door roller, which was causing chip splashing and preventing the chuck from closing properly, the workshop promptly redesigned the roller structure, successfully resolving the issue of cutting fluid splashing and optimizing the working environment. By refining the inspection fixture used to measure the symmetry of retaining clips, the inspection speed has been further improved. In the gear manufacturing workshop, it was observed that after assembling a certain sliding fork with a universal joint, the universal joint tended to collide with the spline inside the sliding fork during rotation, resulting in spline damage and affecting product quality. By adding an additional assembly step, this problem was effectively solved, significantly reducing customer complaints. In the fork manufacturing workshop, it was noted that the storage of removed measuring tools was often disorganized, making them time-consuming to locate and prone to accidental damage, which could compromise their measurement accuracy. Therefore, the workshop crafted custom storage containers for measuring tools using wood materials and labeled them clearly, making it much easier to find and use these tools.
There are many similar renovation projects, such as enhancing the stability of clamp connections, improving the consistency of paint spraying, and optimizing the connection-fork process. All workshops and employees at the transmission shaft company regard tackling these projects as a key breakthrough for tapping potential and boosting efficiency. Moving forward, the company will continue to pursue ongoing optimization in areas including ensuring safe production, promoting environmental protection, improving equipment efficiency, and achieving energy conservation and consumption reduction, thereby driving high-quality development to new heights.
