The first automotive brake industry standard formulated by Wanxiang Qianchao has been officially released.

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued Document No. 10 of 2022, approving the release of a batch of industry standards, including QC237-2022, "Test Method for Performance of Automotive Parking Brakes," which was led by Wanxiang Qianchao Co., Ltd. This is the first time Wanxiang Qianchao has developed an industry standard for automotive brakes.
The QC237-2022 “Test Method for Performance of Automotive Parking Brakes” standard specifies the terminology and definitions for automotive parking brakes, as well as the requirements, preparation, and test procedures related to these tests. The standard was released on April 24, 2022, and officially came into effect on October 1, 2022. This new standard will unify the bench-test methods and criteria for parking brakes, providing guidance for relevant enterprises in conducting technical research—including the development, design, and application verification of parking brakes. By simulating real-vehicle road parking performance tests, the standard lays the foundation for shortening the time required for matching parking brakes with actual vehicles and improving the success rate of such matches. As a result, it will promote the advancement of technological levels within China’s brake industry and drive the development of products in related industries.
The development of this standard took two years. After the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the standard-setting plan, Wanxiang Qianchao took the lead in establishing a standards drafting working group, in accordance with the requirements of the National Automobile Standardization Technical Committee and the Brake Sub-Technical Committee. The working group was officially established in July 2020, with a total of 17 member units—including major automobile manufacturers, component suppliers, and testing and inspection institutions that wield considerable influence in the national brake industry. Over the past two years, despite the impact of the pandemic, the working group held three on-site standard review meetings and two online video conferences, successfully completing all procedures and tasks involved in the standard’s development.
This marks the first time Wanxiang Qianchao has developed an industry standard for automotive brakes, making it highly significant. Over the past nearly 20 years, Wanxiang Qianchao has either led or participated in the formulation of a total of 57 national standards, industry standards, or Zhejiang Manufacturing Standards. For the first time, these standards have expanded beyond bearings and drive shafts to include brake systems, fully demonstrating that Wanxiang’s brake products have earned recognition from both the industry and the market. Moreover, in this standard-setting effort, the Qianchao Technology Center joined forces with Qianchao Shanghai Systems, which not only increased the involvement of various Wanxiang Qianchao enterprises in standard-setting activities and cultivated more standardization professionals, but also further enhanced the visibility of Wanxiang’s products within the industry and established a positive image of Wanxiang as a leading enterprise in the sector.
