Focusing on digital and intelligent transformation to boost high-quality development, in recent years, the constant-velocity drive shaft manufacturer has undertaken comprehensive upgrades across product R&D, manufacturing technologies, process improvements, quality control, smart manufacturing, process optimization, and market expansion. As a result, the company has continuously enhanced both product quality and production efficiency, creating a robust development momentum characterized by strong sales and production performance and repeatedly setting new records. The constant-velocity drive shaft plants—focusing on quality and innovative operations—are simultaneously carrying out digital quality initiatives across their three companies: DCS, Chongqing Plant, and Wuhu Plant. This has enabled online inspection and error-proofing for all production processes. Product quality parameters are recorded, stored, and transmitted in real time, allowing for traceability via a single code. In June of last year, the demonstration line for digital quality inspection for R customer became fully operational. In October, construction began on an online digital inspection line for H customer. These two major projects have achieved digitalization across the entire manufacturing process and throughout the entire product lifecycle.

To effectively implement grid-based management for safety and quality, the constant-velocity drive shaft factory has comprehensively upgraded its workshop error-proofing devices, induction hardening processes, and control measures for defective products. It has also introduced electronic, hierarchical review procedures, with automatic categorization and analysis performed in the background. From identifying risk points at the team level to establishing system-level error-proofing across the entire workshop, the factory ensures that no risk point is left unaddressed and that management system alerts remain active until the underlying risks are fully eliminated.

The company encourages employees to focus on their respective positions and address quality issues in production, manufacturing, and process operations. With the active participation of all staff in continuously improving quality management, the company has cultivated an outstanding quality management team, enhanced management efficiency, and earned numerous accolades. In 2021, the Speed-Constant Drive Shaft Plant initiated 17 quality improvement projects at its own level, completed 9 of them, and is steadily advancing the remaining 8. These efforts have effectively reduced customer complaints and the defect rate. The “low-vibration, large-angle, high-efficiency speed-constant drive shaft product,” independently developed and mass-supplied by the company, was recognized by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology and the Department of Finance as the first-of-its-kind (set) product in a key area of Zhejiang’s equipment manufacturing industry for 2020. Furthermore, the achievement titled “Improvement of Difficult Assembly of DFRC532-DCT Inner Cage,” created by the “Project Development QC Team,” was awarded second prize by the Zhejiang Mechanical Industry Federation.

To ensure that no defective products are manufactured and that no defective products leak out, the constant-velocity drive shaft factory also holds regular QRQC meetings every day at scheduled times. During these meetings, various departments discuss solutions and exchange information, ensuring that swift corrective actions can be taken whenever abnormal issues arise. In conducting OEE improvement and production-line balancing analyses, the entire production process is recorded in video, allowing for detailed playback and analysis of each operation and handling step to identify areas for improvement. For instance, the three-column housing production line for a certain product has significantly reduced its changeover time through SMED-based quick changeover improvements. Compared to last year, the OEE of this production line has increased by nearly 10% in the first quarter of this year.

Meanwhile, we have adjusted the production line layout and product structure to further optimize resource allocation across the three companies. For example, all star-shaped sleeves have been transferred to the Wuhu plant for production; the First Metalworking Department of the Equal Velocity Level is now exclusively focused on the full-process manufacturing of clock-type housings, while the Second Metalworking Department is dedicated to the full-process manufacturing of three-column groove housings. Through these scientifically planned adjustments, we have effectively enhanced resource utilization and production efficiency. Looking at key performance indicators—including output value, overall labor productivity, profit, OEE, and manufacturing cost per 10,000 yuan—this past quarter, the Equal Velocity Level saw increases of 7.59%, 18.87%, 55.71%, and 11.35% respectively compared to the same period last year; the Chongqing plant recorded increases of 135.34%, 25.77%, 492.26%, and 6.45%; and the Wuhu plant achieved growth rates of 47.45%, 25.87%, 96.21%, and 21.83%. In terms of manufacturing cost per 10,000 yuan, the three companies collectively reduced their costs by 1.1%, 9.57%, and 0.21% respectively compared to the same period last year.

There’s no limit to improvement, and innovation drives development.
