Building High-End "Joints" and "Wings": Wanxiang Qianchao Robotics Achieves New Breakthroughs in Core Components for the Low-Altitude Economy
2025-12-26
As humanoid robots take more agile steps and low-altitude aircraft chart more stable trajectories, such achievements would not be possible without the robust support of one precision core component after another. As a deep player in the global precision bearing and chassis sectors, Wanxiang Qianchao is adopting a forward-looking perspective and focusing on two strategic frontiers—humanoid robotics and the low-altitude economy. The company has achieved a series of critical technological breakthroughs in core components such as planetary roller screws, joint universal joints, joint modules, and bearings for low-altitude aircraft, injecting strong momentum into the development of China’s strategic emerging industries.

Wanxiang Qianchao Robot Intelligent Manufacturing Center
Part 1: Planetary Roller Screw
Micrometer-level positioning accuracy, with a service life increased several times.
For applications involving dexterous hands and high-load joints, Wanxiang Qianchao remains committed to the independent design and precision manufacturing of a full range of planetary roller screws for humanoid robots, covering core specifications such as lead ranges from 2 to 8 mm, maximum load capacities up to 20 kN, and transmission efficiencies of ≥80%. Addressing industry challenges including machining of workpieces with large length-to-diameter ratios, highly consistent manufacturing, and long-term stable operation, the company has systematically overcome key process bottlenecks, achieving product positioning accuracy at the micrometer level and extending service life several times longer than that of conventional ball screws. While meeting requirements for high dynamic response, these advancements also provide solid support for the overall lightweighting of robotic systems. Currently, this product series has entered a phase of in-depth technical exchanges with leading domestic and international humanoid robot companies, rapidly iterating around the demands of next-generation screw drives and laying a solid foundation for the next stage of industrialization.
Part 2: Universal Joint
Multi-process composite machining—successfully extended from the traditional universal joint.
In humanoid robots, the wrists, necks, hips, ankles, and other body parts not only require pitch and roll movements but also yaw motion. Moreover, the motions in these two directions must be mechanically decoupled; otherwise, motion coupling errors will arise, leading to reduced positioning accuracy, torque crosstalk causing increased energy consumption, and an overly bulky structure resulting in low space utilization. Wanxiang Qianchao’s newly designed joint universal joint specifically for humanoid robots enables a single joint to simultaneously achieve two degrees of freedom while maintaining a compact structure, high torque output, long service life, and self-locking capability. In terms of manufacturing processes, in response to the demands for small-scale, high-precision, and highly reliable production, Wanxiang Qianchao’s Precision Shaft Project Team has established a multi-process composite machining system, achieving precision tolerances within 0.003 mm, surface roughness below 0.02 μm, and surface profile deviations within 0.03. This successful extension from conventional universal joints to robotic joint universal joints provides a brand-new, systematic solution that makes humanoid robots more flexible, more reliable, and capable of longer service lives.
Part.3 Joint Module
The peak thrust covers a wide range, perfectly matching critical areas.
By focusing on industry needs, Wanxiang Qianchao has developed an innovative high-efficiency conversion system that uses a reverse planetary roller screw as its core transmission unit. This system integratively incorporates a high-power-density frameless torque motor, a highly integrated driver, a high-precision encoder, and a force sensor, enabling seamless conversion from rotary motion to linear motion. Thanks to its deep expertise in precision transmission technology, this series of modules offers a wide range of peak thrusts—from 500N to 14,000N—and boasts significant competitive advantages in positioning accuracy, transmission efficiency, thrust density, and shock resistance. As a result, these modules are ideally suited for key joint areas of humanoid robots, such as the knees, ankles, elbows, and wrists, providing stable and precise power transmission. This breakthrough will serve as a crucial technological cornerstone in accelerating the transition of humanoid robots from laboratory prototypes to large-scale commercial applications.
Part.4 Bearings for Low-Altitude Aircraft
Breakthrough in core technology metrics, and the product has successfully entered mass production.
Focusing on key product categories such as deep-groove ball bearings, tapered roller bearings, motor bearings, cross roller bearings, and four-point contact ball bearings, Wanxiang Qianchao has achieved breakthroughs in core technical indicators—including high reliability, long service life, low friction, and lightweight design—and has successfully translated these technological advances into marketable products in the low-altitude bearing series. For example, the reliability has been improved to 99.5%, the service life exceeds 8L10h, and the friction torque has been reduced by more than 30% compared to conventional products. Among these achievements, a highly reliable, low-friction bearing custom-developed for the transmission system of a leading heavy-duty drone customer has successfully passed a series of initial flight tests and has now entered mass production and delivery, providing critical support for the safe and stable operation of low-altitude aircraft.
Focusing on core components to empower the future of industries.
Wanxiang Qianchao is committed to the independent R&D of a full range of core components for humanoid robots and bearings for low-altitude aircraft, continuously perfecting the closed-loop industrial chain for precision, high-end manufacturing. Taking key components as the cornerstone of innovation, Wanxiang Qianchao is striving to become a major driving force in the global "motion, intelligence, and control" sector—leading in technological innovation, intelligent manufacturing, standard-setting, and the cultivation of high-end talent—and fully empowering the humanoid robot and low-altitude economy industries to move toward a safer, more efficient, and sustainable future.
