From engineer to deputy manager of the Product Innovation Department, he has always remained at the forefront of product development, tackling technical barriers time and again with pragmatism and a strong sense of responsibility. In 2024 and 2025, he was twice honored with the title of “Outstanding Communist Party Member” by Wanxiang Group. Yet, when it comes to his work, he modestly says, “I’m nothing special—I’m just an unassuming screw, firmly fastened onto the chain of every single project.”

At the end of 2024, Wanxiang Precision took on a product development project for Company R. Starting in October, the team began drafting designs. By the end of November, however, the experimental results fell short of expectations. Led by Guo Quan, the design team embarked on an unrelenting journey of troubleshooting. He coordinated the lab to create a full-day schedule, listed all possible influencing factors, and repeatedly verified the product’s performance under various conditions. For several consecutive days, the lab lights stayed on until dawn. Every day after work, Guo Quan would lead his team in conducting conference calls with the client to discuss the day’s progress and plan the next steps. They kept troubleshooting, confirming findings, conducting experiments, discarding hypotheses, and revisiting discussions again and again... Through continuous adjustments and optimizations, they finally pinpointed the root cause.

“Product development is an extremely meticulous endeavor—every single detail and every single parameter must be handled with the utmost care. And we need to complete testing in the shortest possible time; we really can’t afford to waste even a single minute,” Guo Quan said with a smile. “Being busy is the norm. Once this project is wrapped up, there’ll naturally be another task that demands every second be accounted for.”

Creating high-quality products that satisfy users is a relentless pursuit for all product developers—and Guo Quan is no exception. From drawing up one blueprint after another to overcoming one challenge after another—years of dedicated work have endowed him with invaluable hands-on experience, making him the “guiding star” in the eyes of his users. Once, at a critical juncture just before the product was set to be delivered and launched, an unexpected issue arose during user testing. The user insisted strongly that Guo Quan must be present whenever the two sides communicated. This unwavering confidence stems from their trust in him—he always finds effective solutions to turn potential crises into triumphs, never letting down his users’ expectations.

Keeping promises and delivering on commitments—this is Guo Quan’s self-discipline. In the first three quarters of this year, the Product Innovation Department has taken on new product development projects that already amount to twice the number from previous years. Even someone as experienced as Guo Quan has felt no small degree of challenge. Not long ago, he was called away to another city for an urgent assignment, just as another project was nearing its deadline—the very deadline by which he’d promised to submit the approval documents to the client. Reluctant to let his promise fall through and disappoint his clients, he had no choice but to make the most of every available moment amid his busy schedule, squeezing time out even during his commute, between work tasks, and late at night under the light of his desk. “If you can’t keep a promise, over time, you’ll lose people’s trust,” Guo Quan said firmly.

When dealing with users, the most important thing is sincerity. For over a decade, Guo Quan has consistently relied on technology as his weapon and earned the trust and genuine appreciation of an ever-growing number of users through integrity. For him, this is both a source of pressure and a driving force—a wellspring of strength that fuels his relentless pursuit of technological excellence.

Whenever they encounter challenges at work, Guo Quan’s figure always comes to mind. Sometimes, when they’re unsure about a design concept or have new ideas for their work, they’re eager to bring their ideas to Guo Quan for review and to hear his perspective—because he always offers insights that hit the mark precisely.

Guo Quan is delighted to witness the growth of young people. He not only teaches them “how to catch fish,” but also generously shares with them “the skills to fish.” He’s committed to becoming a “guide” on the career path of his new colleagues, helping them quickly integrate into their work. When faced with a new environment, they often find it hard to “get their bearings” and aren’t sure how to get started. Guo Quan tries to help them map out basic, everyday work procedures into flowcharts, turning them into standardized, documented best practices. As they draw these diagrams, they clarify their thoughts and refine their procedures, naturally internalizing these workflows. Meanwhile, Guo Quan collects these documents, refines and perfects them, and then uploads them to the system for safekeeping. He also plans to gradually record the wealth of experience he’s accumulated over the years. In the future, newly joined colleagues will no longer have to “feel their way through the water.”

He always does his utmost to help others and shares his experience wholeheartedly. This is precisely because he deeply understands that the creation of outstanding work results hinges on the growth and dedication of every single individual.
