For the past two months or so, all Wanxiang companies have been deeply studying and earnestly implementing the speech delivered by Chairman Lu Weiding at the 55th Anniversary Conference of Wanxiang’s Entrepreneurial Journey. “Taking responsibility and fulfilling it thoroughly means not only simply completing work tasks, but also deeply pursuing quality, efficiency, and the overall goals of the project,” said Yang Jie, Assistant General Manager of Wanxiang Precision, when reflecting on the word “responsibility.” With a deep sense of responsibility in mind and putting that responsibility into action, Yang Jie leads the Project Management Department to tackle tasks down-to-earth, striving to complete each project task with high quality. The team he leads was awarded the “Entrepreneurship” honor by Wanxiang Qianchao for 2023. As of the end of August this year, the team has achieved mass production for 23 projects, secured 27 new projects, broken through multiple “9+N” new customer and new product milestones, and seen an average monthly sales share increase of 5.52% year-on-year.

Taking responsibility and fulfilling one’s duties means daring to innovate and create, proactively embracing challenges and uncertainties, refusing to sidestep problems, and taking each step firmly and steadily. In April 2022, Project B was designated for nomination, yet the company lacked the coating technology required for the project. Yang Jie and his colleagues immediately established a project team and spent three months conducting visits to coating factories, researching suppliers, piloting spray-coating processes, and carrying out experimental tests. They completed tasks including investment planning for the coating production line, establishing a coating quality system, and accumulating expertise in coating process technologies. By May 2023, the project plan had been finalized. During the project’s production launch, the base fixtures of the coating line required manual loading and unloading of return materials, resulting in high production costs. The project team continued to rise to the challenge: without increasing costs, they completely redesigned the gripping mechanism to separate the product from the base, enabling universal modification of the base fixtures, automatic circulation of tooling, and eliminating the need for manual handling—thus significantly reducing costs.
Taking responsibility and fulfilling duties requires proactively learning and improving oneself at work. Only by consistently receiving positive feedback in the course of one’s work can one truly focus on “wanting to get things done” and ensure that goals are translated into “achieving concrete results.” Yang Jie believes that for new employees, it’s important to spark their curiosity about work processes and the entire product value chain, encouraging them to explore with enthusiasm. For veteran employees, we should encourage them to think more deeply about optimizing workflows and enhancing efficiency, helping them turn their outstanding ideas into reality and enabling them to experience greater job satisfaction. Wanxiang Precision Engineering conducts monthly training sessions for summarizing and sharing project experiences, using a “mentorship” approach to support the growth of young employees. At the same time, we encourage project engineers to take the initiative in accepting assignments, voicing improvement suggestions, and actively proposing innovative ideas—continuously boosting their work motivation.

Li Dong, a “Young Craftsman of Zhejiang,” is an electrical engineer at the drive shaft company. He is passionate about equipment research and development and feels deeply committed to his work. The project he participated in—the “Integrated Boring and Grooving Machine for Automotive Drive Shaft Fork Holes”—was awarded the First Prize for Outstanding Scientific and Technological Innovation in the Hangzhou Youth Workers’ “Five Smalls” Initiative and was also recognized as an advanced operational method named after the employee who developed it.

In recent years, through his daily exploration and practice in the electrical field, Li Dong has deeply realized that “responsibility” is the driving force behind his progress, the core engine of his career, and the solid foundation for his personal growth. This year, he completed the development of an integrated edge-rolling and lubrication machine as well as a riveting-line bracket press. He has gone through every stage—from the precise debugging of the GAZ bolt-tightening machine to the independent creation of the Zhanshun-line bracket press and the paper-tube crimping machine, and then to the meticulous construction of the Fusan-line camera error-proofing system... Each step he’s taken has been a true embodiment of “responsibility.”

Li Bohua from the Wanxiang Qianchao Technology Center is a veteran employee and technical backbone at Wanxiang. Having worked at Wanxiang for many years, he has aligned his personal goals with those of the company, dedicating himself to the “Three Innovations” initiative and realizing his own self-worth. For several consecutive years, he has been awarded the “Entrepreneurship” honor title by Wanxiang Qianchao. “For me,” Li Bohua says, “meeting the needs of ‘9+N’ users is the ultimate embodiment of taking responsibility to the fullest.” The speech delivered by the Chairman of Weiding at the 55th anniversary conference of Wanxiang’s entrepreneurship has provided technological personnel with a clear direction forward. Responsibility is not only a mission—it is also a source of passion, honor, and motivation.

The primary responsibilities of the Qianchao Technology Center Laboratory are to provide high-quality testing and technical services and to promote innovation in testing technologies. The testing and technical services ultimately culminate in an authoritative test report, which determines whether a product meets the required standards and assesses the effectiveness of any improvements made. Therefore, technicians must ensure that “people, equipment, materials, methods, and environment” comply with both testing standards and user requirements. When operating testing equipment, it is essential to follow established procedures and strictly adhere to user specifications to guarantee the accuracy and traceability of the testing process.

If experimental technical services are about doing things right, then experimental technology innovation is about doing the right things. Together with his colleagues, Li Bohua has devoted himself to the “three innovations” in science and technology, keeping firmly in mind the principle that “details determine success or failure.” He has pursued experimental technology innovation through means such as equipment upgrades and independent R&D. In the past two years, his team has obtained five invention patents for equipment upgrades and independent R&D projects, participated in drafting two national standards and eight industry standards, thereby enhancing their voice and influence within the industry. While meeting user needs, these efforts have also improved resource utilization and strengthened the team’s capacity for developing experimental technologies.

In 2022, Li Bohua led the successful independent development of a static spline wear testing machine for heavy-duty transmission shafts, providing technical support that enabled the transmission shaft company to enter, for the first time, the supply chain of a high-end overseas customer. In 2023, he organized and completed the renovation of an NVH testing machine for constant-velocity drive shafts and a static torsion test bench for universal joints, as well as the independent development of an impact testing rig for steering knuckles, thereby establishing three new testing capabilities. This year, he again led the independent development of an extreme torsional fatigue testing machine for constant-velocity drive shafts. The machine has now undergone multiple rounds of experimental verification and has been effectively improved. Moving forward, driven by a sense of responsibility, he will focus on two core technologies—bearings and chassis—and, through driving innovation and digital empowerment, work together with his colleagues to build a technical team that is technically strong, highly collaborative, and exceptionally efficient. This team will support product development and market expansion across various companies, providing tailored solutions for “9+N” customers and helping Wanxiang products secure a leading position in the fiercely competitive market, thus contributing to the realization of the company’s “Long March” goal.

Develop intelligent systems to enhance management efficiency.

Dr. Yan Chizhou is a BMS algorithm lead at Wanxiang 123. Recently, he has been leading his team in several projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and reliability of energy storage battery management systems. The core objective of these projects is to develop more precise and safer BMS systems that can better monitor and manage the state of battery packs, ensuring the safe operation of energy storage power stations and extending the service life of batteries.

Over the past year, Dr. Yan and his colleagues have achieved a series of remarkable accomplishments. They have successfully designed and implemented innovative algorithms that can more accurately predict the state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH) of batteries, significantly enhancing the system’s precision and stability. In addition, they have collaborated with software engineers to develop a real-time monitoring platform that enables remote monitoring of battery pack conditions and promptly sends early warning notifications to operations and maintenance personnel, effectively preventing potential safety hazards.

“The work of a BMS algorithm engineer is not only about technological innovation—it’s also directly linked to the safe operation of every energy-storage container. That’s why, at every stage of the project, I’ve always insisted on high standards and stringent requirements, ensuring that all software code undergoes rigorous testing and verification to eliminate any potential vulnerabilities or errors.” He has consistently demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility toward his work. Moving forward, he plans to continue deepening his research into battery characteristics and exploring more advanced control strategies, thereby further enhancing the intelligence level of BMS systems.

While striving to enhance performance, ensuring the absolute safety of our products is a bottom line that our company must steadfastly uphold. From material selection and structural design to software development and testing and validation, every stage requires rigorous quality control to guarantee foolproof reliability. This not only reflects respect for consumers’ lives and property but also embodies the company’s credibility and social responsibility. Yan Chizhou and his colleagues carry their responsibilities in their hearts and put them into action, using concrete efforts to elevate the intelligence level of our products and safeguard their safety.

Responsibility is the foundation of being a person; it is the cornerstone of achieving success, and it is the path to personal growth and excellence. As the chief shift operator in the second shift of the Wind Power Generation Department at Xingxing Wind Power, Xu Zhizhi constantly keeps this sense of responsibility in mind in his daily work, integrating it into every single detail of his tasks.

In the power industry, safety is paramount. Wind farms, in addition to electricity generation, involve working at heights, which places even higher demands on safe production. Xu Zhizhi deeply understands that only by ensuring the safety of himself and others can he better fulfill his responsibilities. Therefore, in his daily work, he remains constantly vigilant about safety and strictly adheres to all safety operating procedures.

At this stage, Xu Zhizhi is rigorously overseeing the replacement of wind turbine blade bolts. While ensuring his own personal safety protection, he also closely monitors the safety precautions and safe working practices of other personnel. Daily, he conducts thorough inspections of wind turbines, box-type substations, and in-field switchgear and distribution equipment, keeping a close eye on their operational status, promptly analyzing and making adjustments as needed to ensure that all equipment remains in a safe and economically efficient operating mode at all times.

It is precisely because of this sense of responsibility, which he carries in his heart at all times, that Xu Zhizhi was awarded the “Innovation” honor by Wanxiang Group for the year 2023. This recognition not only affirms his past efforts but also serves as a powerful motivation for him to keep moving forward. Looking ahead, Xu Zhizhi deeply understands that he bears a great responsibility and that the road ahead is long and arduous. In the next phase of his work, he will firmly keep in mind the remarks made by Chairman Lu Weiding, wholeheartedly immerse himself in the practice of the “Three Innovations,” strictly adhere to the “Three Truths” standards, and actively take the lead. He stated, “My primary focus will be on providing coordinated support and supervision for the regular maintenance of wind turbines and box-type transformers. Combining the long-term vision of expanding and upgrading wind power facilities with practical realities, I will diligently study and continuously enhance my own capabilities. At the same time, I will actively participate in team building and collaboration, working closely with my colleagues to keep pace with the company’s development and contribute my part to the long-term stable growth of the wind farm.”
