Meeting the highest quality standards in the global automotive industry, Wanxiang Qianchao receives Ford Motor’s Q1 certification.

After nearly ten years of relentless efforts, Wanxiang Qianchao has been awarded the “benchmark” — Ford Motor Company’s Q1 certification for supplier product quality assessment and certification in the automotive industry. This milestone signifies that Wanxiang Qianchao’s products have reached Ford’s highest quality standards, highlighting Wanxiang Qianchao’s global competitiveness in quality. On September 24, both parties held a ceremony to present the award and flag.

Q1 (Quality is No.1) is a set of fundamental quality and manufacturing guidelines unique to Ford Motor Company. The Q1 certification represents Ford’s high level of recognition of suppliers in the field of quality. This certification comprises five key aspects: a qualified system, consistent performance, on-site action plans, satisfied customers, and continuous improvement. It primarily ensures high quality by differentiating manufacturing sites according to their levels and employing a consistent, comprehensible matrix tool. By motivating suppliers to continuously improve and achieve enhancements, it helps forge a globally recognized quality brand and serves as the “benchmark” for supplier product quality assessment and certification within the automotive industry. The Q1 certification system has always been renowned for its rigor; obtaining Q1 certification signifies Wanxiang Qianchao’s outstanding performance in critical areas such as product quality, technological innovation, and service capabilities.

Wanxiang Qianchao carries forward the essence of Wanxiang’s 55-year-old quality culture and is committed to meeting the highest quality standards in the global automotive industry. It rigorously implements the philosophy of “strengthening enterprises through standards, leading the industry with standards, and providing support for the industry,” continuously driving the development of the sector. Since September 2005, the company has been supplying Ford’s North American plants with trunnion shafts and straight shafts in bulk. To date, it has cumulatively delivered 1,095,686 units, achieving a PPM rate of 0 over the past six months—a performance that Ford has described as “an incredible demonstration of high quality.” In November 2020, the company established a Ford Q1 Certification Promotion Team, innovatively advancing quality standardization efforts, deepening its internal enterprise standardization management system, and developing the Wanxiang Qianchao “9N” Quality General Standards system. Based on Wanxiang Qianchao’s specific circumstances, the company has conducted comprehensive and systematic training and audits tailored to Ford’s special requirements. Thanks to these concerted quality initiatives, in August 2023, the company successfully passed the certification with high scores, earning not only Ford’s prestigious Q1 honor but also comprehensively enhancing the global competitiveness of its products and further demonstrating the company’s solid progress on the path of high-quality development.

At the Q1 award and flag-awarding ceremony, Ford delivered a speech stating, “This Q1 medal signifies that your company has reached Ford’s highest quality standards. With this achievement, Wanxiang Qianchao has demonstrated to its peers in the global automotive industry that it has successfully joined Ford’s Q1 Quality Elite Club. Q1 represents excellence in the field of quality. We sincerely thank all the employees of Wanxiang Qianchao for their hard work and outstanding contributions—you truly deserve this recognition.”

Wanxiang Qianchao has successfully obtained Q1 certification and will establish a closer partnership with Ford Motor Company worldwide, further enhancing its market competitiveness and brand influence.
