On March 10, local time, the “Future Wanxiang Fund,” established by Wanxiang, co-hosted with the Chicago Chapter of the U.S.-China General Chamber of Commerce a global dialogue titled “China in Spring: China’s Opportunities, Shared by the World,” organized by the North American Bureau of China Media Group, at the University of Chicago.

The “Future Wanxiang Fund” invited guests including former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and Ma Yeka—former Deputy Mayor of Chicago and currently Managing Director of the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago—to jointly attend the dialogue session. Shen Haixiong, Director-General of China Central Radio and Television Main Station, Xie Feng, Chinese Ambassador to the United States, and Wang Baodong, Chinese Consul General in Chicago, also delivered remarks. Ni Pin, President of Wanxiang USA, along with students from Chicago public high schools, the University of Chicago, and Northwestern University who have participated in the Wanxiang “100,000 Strong in China-U.S.” program over the years, all took part in the Wanxiang “100,000 Strong in China-U.S.” Exchange Forum.
The dialogue will focus on two key themes for in-depth exchanges: New Trends, New Opportunities—exploring China’s scientific and technological innovation and the new opportunities it brings, as well as discussing Sino-U.S. scientific and technological cooperation; and A New Future—youth exchanges opening up new windows, promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges, especially among young people, and strengthening the public opinion foundation for comprehensive, multi-level exchanges between the two countries.

In his speech, Shen Haixiong stated that China’s development is inseparable from the world, and the world’s prosperity also depends on China. “China in Spring” will share China’s experiences and wisdom with the world, uncover more opportunities for “deep engagement with China,” and ensure that the fruits of Chinese-style modernization benefit the global community even more. In his speech, Xie Feng said that through dialogue, we should strive to achieve early stabilization, healthy development, and sustainability in U.S.-China relations.
In an interview with CCTV, Ni Pin emphasized that the interaction and exchange between American and Chinese students is not merely a call from national leaders nor solely the responsibility of any single administration. From President Obama’s “100,000 Strong” initiative to President Xi Jinping’s advocacy of “50,000 over 5 years,” the underlying philosophy and shared goals are beneficial to the people of both countries and will bring prosperity to future generations. We have established the “Future Wanxiang Fund” in the United States, dedicating special resources and wholeheartedly supporting this endeavor. We believe in the common aspirations of the peoples of both countries and in the bright prospects for future cooperation. As the saying goes, "Even a drop of water can wear away stone; united strength can move mountains."
