Constant-velocity drive shaft factory

In July of this year, the new production line for the G48 project under Brand B in the Assembly Department of the Constant Velocity Drive Shaft Plant successfully passed the customer’s VS0 audit. This is the Assembly Department’s first fully automated production line for constant velocity drive shafts. Robotic arms have replaced manual labor to perform heavy-duty and low-flexibility operations such as loading and press-fitting drive shaft components. Compared with the traditional production line, the number of personnel required per shift on the automated line has been reduced from 7 to 4, and the projected output is expected to reach 100 units per hour. Moreover, this automated equipment features fully automatic 3D visual inspection and comprehensive error-proofing throughout all processes, effectively enhancing product quality.

Since the customer delivered the project in May of this year, the project team has consistently adopted a rigorous approach to its work. Taking into account all factors, we selected a robotics company with the best equipment manufacturing capabilities and highest-quality performance to design and build the production line, ensuring that we meet customer requirements with high quality and stringent standards. According to Zhang Yilin, the shift leader of the production line, the line will be operated by a team of highly skilled workers handpicked from the workshop for their outstanding production and quality performance. The first-phase commissioning has now been completed, and we are currently producing small batches of trial parts. Work is still underway to fine-tune and optimize various detailed parameters of the production line. We expect the line to enter full-scale mass production by March of next year.

Yang Haifeng, workshop manager of the Assembly Department, stated: “The new G48 automated production line represents a major step forward for our workshop—from manual operations to intelligent, digital ones. Currently, we’re working closely with the equipment manufacturer to further optimize the line’s continuous production capacity and ensure consistent quality. Although there are challenges ahead, this is a responsibility entrusted to us by both the company and the times. Intelligent and digital transformation is already underway across all sectors, and market competition is fierce. We can’t afford to stand idly by—we’ll continue to make every effort!”
