Recently, Qianchao Bearing and Wanxiang Jinggong were selected as water-saving enterprises for 2023 in Hangzhou City.
Qianchao Bearing is a national-level high-tech enterprise. Adhering to the principle of sustainable development and guided by its mission to “make the air cleaner,” the company is actively building a “green park,” continuously improving water-saving systems such as water circulation, conducting regular water balance tests, and comprehensively enhancing industrial water-use efficiency. The company has allocated special funds for wastewater treatment and related environmental protection facilities, introduced advanced equipment, and leveraged technological innovation to further boost water-saving efficiency. By purifying exhaust gases, the company promotes cleaner production; through wastewater reuse, it achieves resource recycling; and via its wastewater treatment system, it ensures that production wastewater is properly collected and treated. According to statistics, in 2021, the water consumption per 10,000 yuan of output value decreased by 5.26% compared to 2020, and in 2022, it decreased by 5.70% compared to 2021. Moreover, the water consumption for all types of bearing products manufactured by the company is below the standards set forth in the “Water Use Quotas (2019) of Zhejiang Province,” and the rate of water reuse reaches 96.6%.
Wanxiang Jinggong is a national-level high-tech enterprise and an intelligent factory in Zhejiang Province. The company has established a dedicated energy management team under the Manufacturing Intelligence Engineering Department, which implements water-saving initiatives through a multi-pronged approach covering publicity, institutional frameworks, monitoring, and process equipment improvements: The company produces water-saving slogans to leverage public awareness and education; it has formulated detailed regulations and rules for water conservation management to ensure that all water-saving measures are effectively implemented; and it conducts monthly statistical analyses of overall water usage, closely monitors key water-consuming equipment, and promptly identifies and addresses any abnormalities. Specifically, regarding process equipment, the company has adopted several immediate and effective measures—for example, optimizing the water usage pattern for parts cleaning by switching from single-use replacement to pool-by-pool replacement, thereby enhancing water resource utilization efficiency and reducing water consumption. Additionally, the company has strengthened the management of cooling tower water consumption: while meeting process requirements, it has reduced the number of cooling tower fans activated, thus minimizing water drift. Furthermore, the company has promoted the use of nationally standardized water-saving faucets that feature quick opening and closing mechanisms, significantly reducing water waste. As a result of these management measures, the company’s water consumption per 10,000 yuan of output value decreased by 3.95% year-on-year in 2022 and by 4.11% year-on-year in 2023, showing a consistent downward trend and continuously improving water-use efficiency.
Being recognized as a water-saving enterprise is not the end of our water conservation efforts—it’s rather a new starting point.
