On the evening of January 24, the Group’s Board of Directors solemnly honored outstanding scientific and technological achievements, and the Wanxiang 123 “150C Wide-Temperature Range Battery Cell Technology” project was awarded the grand prize.

The Wanxiang Annual Science and Technology Award is Wanxiang’s highest scientific and technological honor, with a prize amount of up to three million yuan. Each year, the award recognizes scientific and technological achievements that are original, pioneering, capable of generating significant economic benefits, and continuously enhancing the company’s competitiveness. The award specifically honors the creators of the most fundamental and core original technologies. Proposed by Chairman Lu Weiding and established by the Board of Directors, the award was first presented on January 16, 2023.
Dr. Han Xiao, the primary contributor to the “150°C Wide-Temperature-Range Battery Cell Technology” project, has pioneered an innovative technological approach aligned with Wanxiang’s mission of “Making Air Fresher.” By addressing key user pain points, Dr. Han led her team to successfully develop ultra-high-power, wide-temperature-range multi-component battery cell technology, driving a major breakthrough in hybrid power units for the automotive industry—from “zero” to “one.” The project’s products have achieved the world’s highest power density and hold a 60% market share in the F1 racing segment. The technology has also generated a comprehensive portfolio of globally independent intellectual property rights covering materials, batteries, and structural design, totaling 37 patents. Currently, this technology is rapidly scaling up from “one” to “hundreds,” with broad applications extending into civilian sectors such as humanoid robots, unmanned aerial vehicles, and supercars—offering unparalleled performance and providing cutting-edge service options for future markets.
